Walking Group

Congratulations to Dr Clare Morris on a successful first walking group on Tuesday 22nd May (photo on our Practice Team Work tab). The next lunchtime walk is on the 26th June 2018 at 1pm at Ashfield. Dr Carmichael along with lots of the team will be leading the walk in Dr Morris' absence so please do come along and support the initiative.

Clinical pharmacist

We now have a clinical pharmacist working at the practice.  As a specialist in medicine, you can see her if you have medication related problems to discuss rather than seeing a GP.  As at reception.

"Come along to our walking group.  1st walk takes place on Tuesday 22 May meeting at Ashfield Medical Centre at 1pm.  Walk led by Dr Clare Morris"

We are starting a walking group this month led by Dr C Morris.  The walk is for all abilities and everyone is welcome.  Our aim is to help people to live healthier lives, patients and staff alike.  Why not come along and take that first step in a supportive environment.  We aim to be out for about an hour come rain or shine so wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.  Walking group

"Take advantage of our automated blood pressure monitor - CLICK HERE for more info"

Check your own blood pressure in the reception area and simply hand your reading in at the desk. We may be able to avoid you booking an appointment with the nurse if your readings are normal. Please contact reception for more information.

"Bowel screening - take the test CLICK HERE for further information"

Patients aged between 60 and 74 are sent a bowel screening kit by the NHS National Bowel Screening Programme.

Doctors at the Practice believe it is important that our patients receive relevant screening and strongly encourage all patients to take the test.  Whilst screening does not diagnose bowel cancer, the results will tell you whether you need an examination of your bowels called a colonoscopy.
