PPG Meeting

We have held our first PPG after relaunching the group this summer. Thanks to those PPG members who attended. We had some really good ideas to improve communication and recruit more PPG members to ensure that we have a diverse group that represents the practice population.  To see the minutes from the meeting click here.

Online Consultations Update

We have done our first week of online GP consultations and had some brilliant feedback from patients about the service.

Our average response time for queries before 12pm has been 30 minutes

Patients have been able to obtain treatment and advice without coming to the surgery

We have found that patients who consult online but still need to be seen in person by a GP take less time to be seen due the detailed information given online

Keeping in touch.......

Our Summer News letter is available here, in the Surgery or on our

Facebook page

Extended Access appointments - Seacroft Hospital and St Georges Minor Injuries Unit

To access a routine GP appointment during the out of hours period, Monday to Friday 6.30 - 8.00pm, Saturdays 8 and to 2pm and Sundays 8am to midday, please call 0113 206 2049.  Outside of these hours, please contact Ashfield Medical Centre to book.

Clinical pharmacist

We now have a clinical pharmacist working at the practice.  As a specialist in medicine, you can see her if you have medication related problems to discuss rather than seeing a GP.  As at reception.

Contraceptive Services

The full range of contraceptive services are offered to our patients and we can also offer implant insertions and removals to our patients and those registered elsewhere. All our GP’s are kept up to date with the latest advice and we are able to support you in choosing the method which best suits you.

Joint Injections

Corticosteroid injections are offered for patients in the surgery for appropriate conditions including osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome. Alternative options for management will always be discussed along with the risks and expected benefits.

NHS Health Check

blood_pressure1In line with a national programme we offer a free health check for all adults aged 40-75. This involves a lifestyle assessment along with simple blood tests which in part help us to calculate a vascular risk score. We can subsequently offer advice and if appropriate treatment to help reduce the risk of you becoming unwell in the future. Please ask at reception to book for an NHS Health Check. All eligible patients will be invited for this in time but you are welcome to request one sooner if you meet the criteria. Note if you already have a chronic disease and have annual reviews at the surgery this is unnecessary as we already calculate this for you.

Chronic Disease management

We offer our patients with chronic diseases annual health checks with some being reviewed 6 monthly. You will automatically be invited at appropriate times.

The Chronic Disease Register includes patients with:
